I was a little skeptical about buying this backpack over the internet because with bags, I usually like to see and feel them in person to see if they will stand up to all the hell my children will put them through, but I was relieved to see not only was this bag made extremely well (high grade canvas), it has stood up to the daily rigors of a school bus and kindergarten and still looks like new!

My daughter absolutely loves this bag, and Ni hao Kai-lan was so hard to find, I was glad I was able to find it on Amazon. Parents, this bag is roomy, perfectly fits all the artwork and things children carry to and fro from Elementary school. This is not one of those extra small “preschooler” backpacks that can barely hold a juice box and sandwich, it’s 100% full size, and bigger than Pottery Barn Kids’ size “Small” backpack.

I have purchased both Pottery Barn Kids backpacks for my kids and this one, and I have to say, the quality of construction and the material used is about the same. Pottery Barn goes the extra mile to make pockets, and little holders for things like pencils, wallets, ipods, laptops, which is why the PBK cost a little more, but if you’ve got a Kindergartner or First Grader, this backpack is perfect. Also, the Cartoon picture portion of this backpack is made with a high-grade vinyl type of material, not paper thing plastic, so you can be sure this won’t look cheap or get marred by a pencil poking it.
